Event Description

Annual Westmoreland Arts & Heritage Festival 2026
Dates: July 2–5, 2026
Location: Twin Lakes Park, Youngwood, PA (near Pittsburgh)

Celebrating its enduring legacy, the Westmoreland Arts & Heritage Festival returns for its 54th edition in 2026, transforming Twin Lakes Park into a vibrant tapestry of creativity, culture, and community. Nestled in the scenic hills of Westmoreland County—just 30 miles east of Pittsburgh—this beloved four-day event draws over 50,000 visitors annually, uniting art enthusiasts, history buffs, and families under the banner of regional heritage and artistic innovation.

Artistic Showcase
The festival’s heart lies in its juried fine arts exhibition, featuring 200+ acclaimed artists from across the nation. Visitors will explore eclectic displays of painting, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, and photography, alongside a bustling Art Marketplace where creators sell original works. Interactive installations and live demonstrations—such as glassblowing, pottery throwing, and plein-air painting—offer immersive experiences, while the Emerging Artists Pavilion spotlights rising talent.

Cultural Heritage & Tradition
Heritage takes center stage with living history encampments, reenactments of pivotal regional events, and storytelling sessions that spotlight Western Pennsylvania’s rich coal-mining, immigrant, and Native American legacies. Craftsmen demonstrate timeless skills like blacksmithing, quilting, and weaving, while heritage exhibits showcase artifacts from local museums, including the Westmoreland Museum of American Art. Traditional folk music, Appalachian dance, and multicultural performances on multiple stages celebrate the area’s diverse roots.

Family-Friendly Fun
Families delight in the Children’s Creativity Corner, offering hands-on workshops, face painting, and scavenger hunts. The Heritage Farmstead features petting zoos, antique tractors, and farm-to-table activities, while food vendors serve up regional specialties like pierogies, kielbasa, and fresh-squeezed lemonade. Fireworks light up the night sky on July 4th, capping off a day of music, from bluegrass and jazz to rock and Americana.

Community & Sustainability
Beyond entertainment, the festival fosters community spirit through volunteer opportunities, eco-friendly initiatives (including recycling stations and solar-powered stages), and partnerships with local nonprofits. Proceeds support arts education in Westmoreland County schools, ensuring cultural preservation for future generations.
